WHY NOW IS KEY FOR PROPERTY SELLERS

These are unprecedented times and much as I’d like one, unfortunately I don’t have a crystal ball. Therefore, it’s difficult to predict what will happen in terms of Brexit. My overall feeling is that the property market has been, remains and will continue to be extremely price sensitive. By this I mean that properties are selling but it is crucial to get the price right and to employ a marketing strategy that will deliver results.

 

What is far more predictable than Brexit is the flow of the seasons. Each year, the pulse of the property market ebbs and flows from one season to the next. With winter fast approaching (and the backdrop of Brexit uncertainty), I believe those who are considering selling a property would be wise to go on the market as soon as practicably possible. Here’s why…

 

Traditionally, November usually brings colder weather and with it a cooldown in the property market. Viewing prospect properties is less enjoyable in cold conditions and generally, people start to become preoccupied with Christmas. Right now, however, those going on or already on the property market have a healthy six-week window in which to make progress… and much can be achieved in six weeks. Only last week we sold a number of properties – within Bury St Edmunds and in local villages – within one week of taking them to market. This is heartening news for those currently hoping to make a move.
